It's one of my favorite websites. Actually, it's a world, an online virtual world. We create characters for ourselves and become citizens of Whyville. You can chat, play games, hang out at the beach, earn clams (that's Whyville' s money), write for the town newspaper, run for the senate, even eat or just throw food at each other.

WHAT? This website allows you and all your friends to discuss any topic on any matter from the latest fashion to race car driving and from your favorite TV shows to the issue in Darfur or other current events. It also allows you to make new friends, while being safe and having fun.

WHEN? All day, everyday, and even all night long, Whyvillians join and sign on to talk to friends, meet at the Beach, the Mall, or even the DISCO! Have a blast learning dance moves and talking in fun colors with kajeet chat. Y-mail friends, read the Whyville Times, even write for the Times, and design new face parts for your avatar!

HOW? Follow these instructions:


1. go to www.whyville.net and click on JOIN or SIGN UP. into all your info, and use the code 2342014.

2. After filling out all the information, go on the tour.

3. If you are old enough, you can take a chat liscense to be able to chat with friends.



4. Click on the RED BACKPACK above your avatar and click around. Become familiar with this bag. Then play the games you see to earn clamz. In Whyville, clamz are our form of money. You will receive a salary based on how often you play games. Each day you log on, you will receive this salary.

5. SAVE UP YOUR CLAMS to get really kool face parts for your avatar, or Whyville character. DON'T spend them all at once, or on something you don't really like. To get to the mall, go to where you see your face, which will be blue when you first join. Above it, there is a scroll box. Click on Akbar's Face Mall and search for parts.




6. When you find the parts you like, proceed to checkout. Then click ok, and click on the blue face to change how you look. When you are done, click DONE and go back to the scroll box. Pic a destination and click on it to explore Whyville and chat with friends. The places with the most people are the Beaches, the Waterfall, and the Grotto. Beware: the Grotto gets really crowded. To get to the Disco, go to Sector Y via scrollbox, and then click on the piece of dirt. This is often reserved for parties though, so make sure to make a lot of friends so you can get invited!
7. Look around, Y-mail iharterka, and just have FUN!
